CIRBP-AS1

Description

The CIRBP-AS1 (CIRBP antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 19.

CIRBP-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 12 in humans. It is transcribed from the opposite strand of the CIRBP gene, which encodes a protein involved in cellular stress response and apoptosis. The precise biological role of CIRBP-AS1 remains unclear, but studies have suggested its potential involvement in regulating the expression of its neighboring gene, CIRBP. Additionally, some studies have linked CIRBP-AS1 to cancer development and progression, potentially by affecting cell proliferation and migration.

The biological functions of CIRBP-AS1 are not yet fully understood. However, studies suggest that it may play a role in regulating the expression of its neighboring gene, CIRBP, which is involved in cellular stress response and apoptosis. Additionally, CIRBP-AS1 has been implicated in cancer development and progression, potentially by modulating cell proliferation and migration.

CIRBP-AS1 is also known as C19orf23.
