CINP

Description

The CINP (cyclin dependent kinase 2 interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

Christmas Island National Park encompasses most of Christmas Island, an Australian territory in the Indian Ocean. This park is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, including the iconic red crab, whose annual migration to the sea for spawning is a remarkable spectacle. Christmas Island is the sole nesting site for the endangered Abbott's booby and the critically endangered Christmas Island frigatebird. Its unique and rich biodiversity makes it a significant location for scientific research. The park was established in 1980 to protect the island's natural heritage, particularly in response to concerns about the impact of phosphate mining. The park initially covered the southwest corner of the island and has been extended over the years to encompass most of the rainforest. Today, it covers approximately 85 km2, representing 63% of the island. Geologically, Christmas Island is characterized by an uplifted limestone cap formed from metamorphosed coral reefs, overlying ancient volcanic andesite bedrock.

CINP is a component of the DNA replication complex, where it interacts with the kinases CDK2 and CDC7, serving as a bridge between them during the activation of replication origins. CINP regulates the ATR-mediated checkpoint signaling pathway in response to DNA damage. It also participates in the cytoplasmic maturation of pre-60S ribosomal particles, promoting the release of the shuttling protein RSL24D1/RLP24 from these pre-ribosomal particles. CINP works in conjunction with AFG2A, AFG2B, and AIRIM to facilitate the maturation of the pre-60S ribosome.

CINP is also known as -.
