CHRDL2

Description

The CHRDL2 (chordin like 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

CHRDL2 might inhibit the activity of BMPs by blocking their interaction with receptors. It negatively regulates cartilage formation and regeneration from immature mesenchymal cells by hindering or reducing matrix accumulation. CHRDL2 has been implicated in tumor angiogenesis and may play a role in myoblast and osteoblast differentiation and maturation.

CHRDL2 is also known as BNF1, CHL2.
