CHRAC1
Description
The CHRAC1 (chromatin accessibility complex subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.
CHRAC1 forms a complex with POLE3 and binds to naked DNA. This DNA is then incorporated into chromatin with the help of ISWI/SNF2H and ACF1, which remodel nucleosomes. However, CHRAC1 does not enhance the nucleosome sliding activity of the ACF-5 ISWI chromatin remodeling complex.
CHRAC1 is also known as CHARC1, CHARC15, CHRAC-1, CHRAC-15, CHRAC15, YCL1.
