CHPT1

Description

The CHPT1 (choline phosphotransferase 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

CHPT1 is the key enzyme in the final step of de novo phosphatidylcholine (PC) synthesis. It facilitates the transfer of choline phosphate from CDP-choline to diacylglycerol (DAG), resulting in the production of PC. This process is essential for the formation and upkeep of vesicular membranes.

CHPT1 is also known as CPT, CPT1.
