CHORDC1
Description
The CHORDC1 (cysteine and histidine rich domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
CHORDC1 is involved in regulating centrosome duplication, likely by inhibiting the kinase activity of ROCK2. It also acts as a co-chaperone for HSP90, potentially playing a role in regulating NOD1 through a HSP90 chaperone complex. CHORDC1 exhibits intrinsic chaperone activity in vitro, possibly by preventing ROCK2 from interacting with NPM1. It ensures the localization of the tyrosine kinase receptor EGFR to the plasma membrane, thereby controlling EGFR activity and EGF-induced actin cytoskeleton remodeling. Furthermore, CHORDC1 is involved in stress response and tumor suppression.
