CFHR2

Description

The CFHR2 (complement factor H related 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Complement factor H-related protein 2 is a protein encoded by the CFHR2 gene in humans. This gene's location and details can be found in the UCSC Genome Browser.

CFHR2 plays a key role in complement regulation. Its dimerized forms readily bind to complement fragments attached to tissues, effectively blocking the action of the natural complement inhibitor CFH. Furthermore, CFHR2 can interact with lipoproteins, suggesting a potential role in lipid metabolism.

CFHR2 is also known as CFHL2, FHR2, HFL3.
