CETN1

Description

The CETN1 (centrin 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.

Centrin-1 is a protein encoded by the CETN1 gene in humans. It belongs to the centrin family of proteins. Centrin-1 plays vital roles in determining centrosome position and segregation, as well as in microtubule severing. This protein is found in the centrosome of interphase cells and relocates to the spindle poles during mitosis, reflecting the dynamic nature of the centrosome during the cell cycle.

CETN1 is also known as CEN1, CETN.
