CES5A
Description
The CES5A (carboxylesterase 5A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.
CES5A plays a key role in detoxifying foreign compounds (xenobiotics) and activating certain drug precursors (ester and amide prodrugs).
CES5A is also known as CAUXIN, CES4C1, CES5, CES7, HEL126.
