CDKN2A-AS1

Description

The CDKN2A-AS1 (CDKN2A antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 9.

CDKN2A-AS1, also known as ANRIL, is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 9, near the tumor suppressor genes CDKN2A and CDKN2B. It is approximately 3.8 kilobases in length and is transcribed from the antisense strand of the CDKN2A locus. ANRIL is highly conserved among mammals and has been shown to play a role in the regulation of cell growth, senescence, and apoptosis.

CDKN2A-AS1, also known as ANRIL, is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that acts as a key regulator of cell proliferation, senescence, and apoptosis. It has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. ANRIL exerts its effects through multiple mechanisms, including regulation of gene expression, modulation of chromatin structure, and interaction with other regulatory proteins. Its role in disease pathogenesis is complex and involves both tumor suppressive and oncogenic functions.

CDKN2A-AS1 is also known as C9orf53, CDKN2A-DT, bA149I2.3.
