CCT6A

Description

The CCT6A (chaperonin containing TCP1 subunit 6A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

CCT6A (T-complex protein 1 subunit zeta) is a human gene that encodes a molecular chaperone protein. This protein is part of the TRiC complex, which consists of two stacked rings, each containing eight different proteins. The TRiC complex folds unfolded polypeptides in an ATP-dependent manner, assisting in the folding of various proteins, including actin and tubulin. Different isoforms of CCT6A have been identified. CCT6A has been shown to interact with PPP4C.

CCT6A is also known as CCT-zeta, CCT-zeta-1, CCT6, Cctz, HTR3, MoDP-2, TCP-1-zeta, TCP20, TCPZ, TTCP20.
