CCP110

Description

The CCP110 (centriolar coiled-coil protein 110) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

CCP110, also known as CP110 or centriolar coiled-coil protein of 110 kDa, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCP110 gene. It is a cell cycle-dependent CDK substrate and regulates centrosome duplication. CP110 suppresses a cilia assembly program.

CCP110 is essential for centrosome duplication during various stages of procentriole formation. In collaboration with CEP97, it acts as a key negative regulator of ciliogenesis by capping the mother centriole, preventing cilia formation. However, CCP110 is also involved in promoting ciliogenesis. It might play a role in assembling the mother centriole subdistal appendages (SDA), influencing the fusion of recycling endosomes to basal bodies during cilia formation. CCP110 is crucial for proper spindle formation and contributes to regulating cytokinesis and genome stability by cooperating with CALM1 and CETN2.

CCP110 is also known as CP110, Cep110.
