CCL7

Description

The CCL7 (C-C motif chemokine ligand 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

CCL7, previously known as monocyte chemotactic protein 3 (MCP3), is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. It is closely related to CCL2 (MCP1). CCL7 is encoded by the CCL7 gene located on chromosome 17q11.2-q12, within a cluster of chemokine genes. The gene consists of three exons and two introns. CCL7 was initially identified in osteosarcoma supernatant.

CCL7 is also known as FIC, MARC, MCP-3, MCP3, NC28, SCYA6, SCYA7.
