CCL3L1

Description

The CCL3L1 (C-C motif chemokine ligand 3 like 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

CCL3L1 (Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 3-like 1) is a protein encoded by the CCL3L1 gene in humans. It is part of a cluster of chemokine genes found on chromosome 17. Chemokines are proteins that play a role in immune responses, attracting lymphocytes to sites of infection or injury. CCL3L1 binds to several chemokine receptors, including CCR5, a co-receptor for HIV. Binding of CCL3L1 to CCR5 inhibits HIV entry and leads to the internalization of the receptor. The copy number of the CCL3L1 gene varies between individuals.

CCL3L1 is also known as 464.2, D17S1718, G0S19-2, LD78, LD78-beta(1-70), LD78BETA, MIP1AP, SCYA3L, SCYA3L1.
