CCDC186

Description

The CCDC186 (coiled-coil domain containing 186) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

CCDC186 is a protein encoded by the human CCDC186 gene, also known as CTCL-tumor associated antigen with accession number NM_018017. The gene is located on chromosome 10q25.3, spanning 53,750 bases on the minus strand. Predictions suggest that the protein is primarily nuclear (65.2%), with some presence in the cytosol, mitochondria, secretory vesicles, and endoplasmic reticulum. CCDC186 is ubiquitously expressed in various tissues across developmental stages. Expression studies show high levels in bone marrow, kidneys, and prostate cell lines, particularly in bladder carcinoma and prostate cancer. The protein consists of 898 amino acids, with a predicted molecular weight of 103.7 kDa and an isoelectric point of 5.92. It features a serine-rich region from amino acids 710-747. CCDC186 is relatively poor in proline (1.1%) but rich in glutamic acid (14.1%) and lysine (12.0%).

CCDC186 is also known as C10orf118, CCCP-1, CCCP1, golgin104.
