CCDC141

Description

The CCDC141 (coiled-coil domain containing 141) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

CCDC141 plays a crucial role in the migration of cortical radial and GnRH neurons during brain development. It regulates cortical radial migration by suppressing the activity of histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), contributing to centrosome maturation. CCDC141 is essential for the formation of dilations in cortical neurons during radial migration. Additionally, it significantly impacts learning and memory by controlling the cell surface expression of AMPA-selective glutamate receptors (AMPARs), competing with KIBRA.

CCDC141 is also known as CAMDI.
