CCDC124

Description

The CCDC124 (coiled-coil domain containing 124) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

CCDC124 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CCDC124 gene.

CCDC124 is a ribosome-binding protein involved in ribosome hibernation. It associates with translationally inactive ribosomes and stabilizes the nonrotated conformation of the 80S ribosome, promoting ribosome preservation and storage. Additionally, CCDC124 is essential for the proper progression of late cytokinetic stages.

CCDC124 is also known as Lso2, oxs1.
