CAP1

Description

The CAP1 (cyclase associated actin cytoskeleton regulatory protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Adenylyl cyclase-associated protein 1 is an enzyme encoded by the CAP1 gene in humans. It is related to the CAP protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which is involved in the cyclic AMP pathway. The human CAP1 protein can interact with other CAP1 molecules, as well as with CAP2 and actin. It has been shown to interact with ACTG1 and CAP2. CAP1 is associated with adenylyl cyclase.

CAP1 is also known as CAP, CAP1-PEN.
