CALML4

Description

The CALML4 (calmodulin like 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

CALML4 is a component of the intermicrovillar adhesion complex (IMAC), crucial for epithelial brush border differentiation. It regulates the organization and length of microvilli, acting as a light chain for the MYO7B protein. This interaction is essential for proper IMAC localization at the tips of brush border microvilli.

CALML4 is also known as NY-BR-20.
