CALML3
Description
The CALML3 (calmodulin like 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.
Calmodulin-like protein 3 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CALML3 gene. Information regarding its genomic location and gene details can be found in the UCSC Genome Browser.
CALML3 might act as a specific light chain for unconventional myosin-10 (MYO10), which is involved in cellular processes like filopodial extension. It also contributes to MYO10 translation, possibly by acting as a chaperone for the emerging MYO10 heavy chain. Furthermore, it may compete with calmodulin by binding to cellular substrates with differing affinities.
CALML3 is also known as CLP.
