BTNL8

Description

The BTNL8 (butyrophilin like 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

BTNL8 may contribute to the initiation of immune responses by activating T cells. It interacts with the TCR/CD3 complex on T cells, but less effectively than optimal stimulation, leading to increased T cell proliferation and cytokine production.

BTNL8 is also known as BTN9.2.
