BTG3

Description

The BTG3 (BTG anti-proliferation factor 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 21.

BTG3 is a human protein encoded by the BTG3 gene. It belongs to the BTG/Tob family, which includes proteins with anti-proliferative properties. BTG3 might have a role in neurogenesis in the central nervous system.

BTG3 overexpression inhibits the transition of cells from the resting phase (G0/G1) to the DNA synthesis phase (S) in response to growth factors like serum.

BTG3 is also known as ANA, ANA/BTG3, APRO4, TOB5, TOB55, TOFA.
