BRSK1

Description

The BRSK1 (BR serine/threonine kinase 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

BR serine/threonine kinase 1 is an enzyme encoded by the BRSK1 gene in humans.

BRSK1 plays a crucial role in the cellular response to DNA damage induced by UV radiation. It is believed to achieve this by inhibiting CDK1 activity through the phosphorylation and activation of WEE1. Additionally, it inhibits CDC25B and CDC25C, further contributing to the DNA damage checkpoint response. BRSK1 is also known as SAD-B, hSAD1.
