BRPF3

Description

The BRPF3 (bromodomain and PHD finger containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

BRPF3 acts as a scaffold subunit within various histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes, notably the MOZ/MORF and HBO1 complexes, which exhibit histone H3 acetyltransferase activity. It contributes to the initiation of DNA replication by guiding KAT7/HBO1 towards specific acetylation of histone H3 lysine 14 (H3K14ac), thus activating replication origins. BRPF3 is a constituent of the MOZ/MORF complex, which possesses histone H3 acetyltransferase activity.
