BRPF1

Description

The BRPF1 (bromodomain and PHD finger containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

BRPF1 acts as a scaffolding protein in various histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complexes, including MOZ/MORF and HBO1, which modify histone H3. Within the HBO1 complex, BRPF1 directs KAT7/HBO1 to acetylate histone H3 lysine 14 (H3K14ac). Some HAT complexes preferentially acetylate histone H3 lysine 23 (H3K23ac). BRPF1 positively regulates the transcription of RUNX1 and RUNX2.

BRPF1 is also known as BR140, IDDDFP.
