BRINP3

Description

The BRINP3 (BMP/retinoic acid inducible neural specific 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

BRINP3 (BMP/retinoic acid inducible neural specific 3) is a human protein encoded by the BRINP3 gene. It is overexpressed in pituitary tumors but underexpressed in tongue squamous cell carcinomas, ulcerative colitis, and peri-implantitis. Increased expression of BRINP3 is linked to vascular inflammation and myocardial infarction. Hypermethylation of this gene may be a biomarker for gastric cancer. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

BRINP3 is also known as DBCCR1L, DBCCR1L1, FAM5C.
