BRINP1

Description

The BRINP1 (BMP/retinoic acid inducible neural specific 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

BRINP1 is involved in the creation of new nerve cells (neurogenesis) and the development of the brain. It might also prevent the further division of nerve cells that have stopped dividing (postmitotic neurons) by stopping the cell cycle at a specific phase (G1/S transition).

BRINP1 is also known as DBC1, DBCCR1, FAM5A.
