BOD1L1

Description

The BOD1L1 (biorientation of chromosomes in cell division 1 like 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

BOD1L1 is a crucial component of the fork protection machinery, safeguarding stalled or damaged replication forks from uncontrolled DNA2-dependent resection. It accomplishes this by stabilizing RAD51 at these stalled forks, shielding the RAD51 nucleofilaments from the antirecombinogenic activities of FBH1 and BLM. Notably, BOD1L1 does not regulate spindle orientation.

BOD1L1 is also known as BOD1L, FAM44A.
