BASP1

Description

The BASP1 (brain abundant membrane attached signal protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

BASP1 (Brain Acid Soluble Protein 1) is a gene that codes for a membrane-bound protein in humans. The protein has several phosphorylation sites that change over time, and it contains PEST motifs, which are sequences that are often found in proteins with short lifespans. This protein is also modified by the attachment of a myristoyl group to its N-terminal end. Interestingly, its immunological properties are unique to each species.

BASP1 is also known as CAP-23, CAP23, NAP-22, NAP22.
