ATXN7L3B

Description

The ATXN7L3B (ataxin 7 like 3B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

ATXN7L3B, by binding to ENY2, disrupts the nuclear functions of the deubiquitinase (DUB) module within the SAGA complex. This complex includes ENY2, ATXN7, ATXN7L3, and the histone deubiquitinase USP22. ATXN7L3B indirectly influences USP22's DUB activity towards histones by altering ENY2's subcellular location and its availability for interaction with ATXN7L3. ATXN7L3B regulates H2B monoubiquitination (H2Bub1) levels by sequestering ENY2 in the cytoplasm, leading to a loss of nuclear ENY2-ATXN7L3 association and destabilization of ATXN7L3. Moreover, ATXN7L3B affects the protein expression levels of both ENY2 and ATXN7L3.

ATXN7L3B is also known as lnc-SCA7.
