ATP1A1-AS1

Description

The ATP1A1-AS1 (ATP1A1 antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 1.

ATP1A1-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the antisense strand of the ATP1A1 gene. It is located on chromosome 19 and expressed in various tissues, including brain, heart, and skeletal muscle. Its functional role is not fully understood, but it may regulate the expression of the ATP1A1 gene.

The functional role of ATP1A1-AS1 is not well-understood. It has been suggested that it may regulate the expression of the ATP1A1 gene, which encodes the alpha-1 subunit of the Na+/K+ ATPase pump, a protein involved in maintaining the electrochemical gradient across cell membranes. However, more research is needed to confirm this and to fully elucidate its function.

ATP1A1-AS1 is also known as ATP1A1OS, C1orf203.
