ATP10B

Description

The ATP10B (ATPase phospholipid transporting 10B (putative)) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

ATP10B is the catalytic component of a P4-ATPase flippase complex that transports glucosylceramide (GlcCer) from the outer to the inner leaflet of lysosome membranes. This transport is coupled to the hydrolysis of ATP and is essential for maintaining lysosome membrane integrity and function, particularly in cortical neurons.

ATP10B is also known as ATPVB.
