ASCC1

Description

The ASCC1 (activating signal cointegrator 1 complex subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

Activating signal cointegrator 1 complex subunit 1 (ASCC1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ASCC1 gene.

ASCC1 plays a crucial role in DNA damage repair as a component of the ASCC complex. It is also part of the ASC-1 complex, which enhances the activity of the transcription factors NF-kappa-B, SRF, and AP1. In cells responding to gastrin signals, ASCC1 contributes to the induction of SERPINB2 expression. ASCC1 may also be involved in the development of the neuromuscular junction.

ASCC1 is also known as ASC1p50, CGI-18, SMABF2, p50.
