ARMCX6

Description

The ARMCX6 (armadillo repeat containing X-linked 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

Armadillo repeat containing X-linked 6 (ARMCX6) is a protein encoded by the ARMCX6 gene located on the X-chromosome. It is part of a family of six armadillo repeat containing X-linked proteins (ARMCX1-6). The function of ARMCX6 is currently unknown, but research suggests it might be involved in regulating the movement and positioning of mitochondria within nerve cells. ARMCX6 is conserved across many eukaryotic organisms and is highly expressed during the early stages of spermatogenesis in mice. The protein's secondary structure is predicted to be similar to cyanase, suggesting potential functional similarities.

ARMCX6 is also known as GASP10.
