ARL5A

Description

The ARL5A (ADP ribosylation factor like GTPase 5A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

ARL5A is a human gene that encodes a protein called ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 5A. This protein is involved in various cellular processes, including vesicle trafficking and signal transduction. ARL5A is a member of the ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) family of proteins, which are known to regulate membrane trafficking by activating phospholipase D (PLD) and other enzymes. However, unlike other ARF proteins, ARL5A does not possess ADP-ribosylation enhancing activity. This suggests that ARL5A may play a unique role in cellular processes compared to other ARF family members.

ARL5A does not enhance ADP-ribosylation.

ARL5A is also known as ARFLP5, ARL5.
