ARHGAP15
Description
The ARHGAP15 (Rho GTPase activating protein 15) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.
ARHGAP15 acts as a GTPase activator for Rho-type GTPases, specifically RAC1. This means it helps switch these GTPases from an active GTP-bound state to an inactive GDP-bound state. When ARHGAP15 is present in excess, it leads to an increase in actin stress fibers and ultimately cell contraction.
ARHGAP15 is also known as BM046.
