ARAP2

Description

The ARAP2 (ArfGAP with RhoGAP domain, ankyrin repeat and PH domain 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

ARAP2 is a phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4,5)P3)-dependent GTPase-activating protein that plays a role in regulating the actin cytoskeleton. It achieves this by modulating the activity of proteins belonging to the ARF and RHO families. ARAP2 is activated upon binding to PtdIns(3,4,5)P3, and can also be activated by PtdIns(3,4,5)P2, albeit with lower efficiency.

ARAP2 is also known as CENTD1, PARX.
