ARAP1

Description

The ARAP1 (ArfGAP with RhoGAP domain, ankyrin repeat and PH domain 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

ARAP1 is a protein that acts as a GTPase-activating protein (GAP), specifically targeting ARF and RHO family members. Its activity is regulated by the binding of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4,5)P3), with a weaker activation possible through phosphatidylinositol 3,4-bisphosphate (PtdIns(3,4,5)P2) binding. It displays a preference for ARF1 and ARF5.

ARAP1 is also known as CENTD2, cnt-d2.
