APOA1-AS
Description
The Apolipoprotein A1-associated with gene (APOA1-AS) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 11, adjacent to the APOA1 gene. While it doesn‘t code for proteins, APOA1-AS has been implicated in various biological processes, including lipid metabolism, inflammation, and cell growth. Research suggests that it interacts with the APOA1 gene and may play a role in regulating its expression. Although its exact function remains under investigation, APOA1-AS has emerged as a potential biomarker for several health conditions and a target for therapeutic interventions.
Associated Diseases
- Cardiovascular diseases (e.g., atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease)
- Metabolic disorders (e.g., dyslipidemia, diabetes)
- Cancer (e.g., hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer)
