Description

The APBB1IP (amyloid beta precursor protein binding family B member 1 interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

The Amyloid beta A4 precursor protein-binding family B member 1-interacting protein (APBB1IP), also known as APBB1-interacting protein 1 or Rap1-GTP-interacting adapter molecule (RIAM) is a protein encoded by the APBB1IP gene in humans. APBB1IP plays a crucial role in signal transduction, facilitating the transmission of signals from Ras activation to the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton. It also acts to suppress the activation of promoters triggered by insulin, specifically through the AP1 and SRE pathways. Additionally, APBB1IP is involved in mediating cell adhesion induced by the Rap1 protein.

APBB1IP is also known as INAG1, PREL1, RARP1, RIAM.
