ANAPC16

Description

The ANAPC16 (anaphase promoting complex subunit 16) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

ANAPC16 is a subunit of the anaphase-promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a crucial enzyme that regulates cell cycle progression. APC/C acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, tagging proteins for degradation, and primarily forms 'Lys-11'-linked polyubiquitin chains to control transitions through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. It also participates in the formation of 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitin chains, but to a lesser extent.

ANAPC16 is also known as APC16, C10orf104, CENP-27, MSAG, bA570G20.3.
