ALG5

Description

The ALG5 (ALG5 dolichyl-phosphate beta-glucosyltransferase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

ALG5 is essential for the construction of lipid-linked oligosaccharides within kidney epithelial cells, playing a crucial role in protein N-glycosylation. It is particularly important for the glycosylation and maturation of polycystin-1 (PKD1).

ALG5 is also known as PKD7, bA421P11.2.
