ALDH1L2

Description

The ALDH1L2 (aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family member L2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

ALDH1L2, also known as Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family, member L2, is an enzyme encoded by the ALDH1L2 gene in humans. It is the mitochondrial isoform of a similar enzyme, ALDH1L1, and plays a role in the conversion of 10-formyltetrahydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate and carbon dioxide.

ALDH1L2 is a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 10-formyltetrahydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate and carbon dioxide using NADP+ as a cofactor.

ALDH1L2 is also known as mtFDH.
