Description
The AIP (aryl hydrocarbon receptor interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
The AIP gene encodes the aryl hydrocarbon receptor-interacting protein (AIP). While its exact role is not fully understood, AIP interacts with various proteins, including the aryl hydrocarbon receptor. These interactions likely regulate cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and survival. AIP is believed to act as a tumor suppressor, preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation.
AIP may positively contribute to AHR signaling by affecting its ligand binding capacity and/or nuclear translocation.
