ACAD11

Description

The ACAD11 (acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family member 11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

ACAD11 is an acyl-CoA dehydrogenase that exhibits maximal activity towards saturated C22-CoA (PMID:21237683). It is likely involved in beta-oxidation and energy production, but it may also have a role in the metabolism of specific fatty acids to control the fatty acid composition of cellular lipids in the brain.

ACAD11 is also known as ACAD-11.
