UBR7

Description

The UBR7 (ubiquitin protein ligase E3 component n-recognin 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

UBR7 plays a crucial role in protein degradation by recognizing and binding to proteins with specific destabilizing N-terminal residues. This recognition triggers the ubiquitination of these proteins, marking them for degradation by the proteasome.

UBR7 is also known as C14orf130, LICAS.
