TKT

Description

The TKT (transketolase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

TKT could refer to the human gene transketolase (TKT).

Transketolase (TKT) catalyzes the transfer of a two-carbon ketol group from a ketose donor to an aldose acceptor. This process involves a covalent intermediate with the cofactor thiamine pyrophosphate.

TKT is also known as HEL-S-48, HEL107, SDDHD, TK, TKT1.
