RIPK4
Description
The RIPK4 (receptor interacting serine/threonine kinase 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 21.
Receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinase 4 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the RIPK4 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a serine/threonine protein kinase that interacts with protein kinase C-delta. The encoded protein can also activate NFkappaB and is required for keratinocyte differentiation. This kinase undergoes autophosphorylation. RIPK4 has been shown to interact with PRKCB1.
RIPK4 plays a key role in stratified epithelial development, acting as a direct transcriptional target of TP63. It also contributes to the activation of NF-kappa-B.
RIPK4 is also known as ANKK2, ANKRD3, CHANDS, DIK, NKRD3, PKK, PPS2, RIP4.
