RGS9BP : regulator of G protein signaling 9 binding protein

Description

The RGS9BP (regulator of G protein signaling 9 binding protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

The RGS9BP gene provides instructions for making a protein called RGS9 binding protein, which is found in the retina, the light-detecting tissue at the back of the eye. This protein interacts with another protein called RGS9, anchoring it to photoreceptor cells. Together, these proteins help photoreceptor cells return to their resting state after being stimulated by light, enabling rapid vision processing.

RGS9BP is also known as PERRS, PERRS2, R9AP, RGS9.
