PUS7

Description

The PUS7 (pseudouridine synthase 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

PUS7 is a pseudouridylate synthase that catalyzes the conversion of uridine to pseudouridine in RNA molecules. It has been shown to act on a variety of RNA types, including tRNAs, mRNAs, snRNAs, Y RNAs, and vault RNAs. PUS7 plays a role in regulating protein synthesis in embryonic stem cells by mediating the pseudouridylation of tRFs, which inhibits translation. It also acts as a regulator of pre-mRNA splicing by mediating the pseudouridylation of pre-mRNAs at locations associated with alternatively spliced regions. PUS7 is known to interact with SIRT1.

PUS7 is also known as IDDABS.
